Awaria Oscara Piastriego w GP Węgier. Stracił szansę na zwycięstwo
Oscar Piastri był jednym z głównych kandydatów do zwycięstwa w Grand Prix Węgier 2026. Kierowca McLarena świetnie rozpoczął wyścig i już na pierwszym okrążeniu objął prowadzenie.
Piastri prowadził w pierwszej części wyścigu, ale problemy po pit stopie, kontakt na torze i późniejsza awaria skrzyni biegów przekreśliły jego szanse na zwycięstwo.
Australijczyk przez długi czas znajdował się przed Lando Norrisem i kontrolował sytuację na Hungaroringu. Jego szanse na zwycięstwo zaczęły jednak maleć po drugim pit stopie.
Problemy po zjeździe do alei serwisowej
Po zmianie opon Piastri wrócił na tor w dużym ruchu. Podczas przebijania się przez wolniejszych kierowców doszło do kontaktu z Carlosem Sainzem.
W tym samym czasie Norris pozostał na torze i mógł wykorzystać czyste powietrze. Brytyjczyk rozpoczął serię szybkich okrążeń, które pozwoliły mu odwrócić sytuację w walce o zwycięstwo.
Awaria kończy wyścig Piastriego
Największy problem pojawił się na 55. okrążeniu.
Piastri musiał zatrzymać samochód z powodu problemów ze skrzynią biegów. Dla Australijczyka oznaczało to koniec wyścigu i utratę szans na bardzo dobry wynik.
Problemy Piastriego otworzyły drogę do zwycięstwa Lando Norrisowi.
Był to wyjątkowo bolesny rezultat, ponieważ wcześniej Piastri prowadził i znajdował się w realnej walce o triumf. Norris wykorzystał sytuację i ostatecznie wygrał Grand Prix Węgier.
Oscar Piastri was one of the main contenders for victory at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix. The McLaren driver made an excellent start and took the lead on the opening lap.
Piastri led the opening part of the race, but problems after his pit stop, an on-track incident and a later gearbox issue ended his hopes of victory.
The Australian spent much of the race ahead of Lando Norris and appeared to have the situation under control at the Hungaroring. His chances of winning began to fade after his second pit stop.
Problems after the pit stop
After changing tyres, Piastri returned to the circuit in heavy traffic. While working his way through slower cars, he made contact with Carlos Sainz.
Norris, meanwhile, remained on track and was able to take advantage of clear air. The British driver began setting a series of quick laps that changed the balance of the fight for victory.
Gearbox problem ends Piastri’s race
The biggest setback arrived on lap 55.
Piastri was forced to stop the car because of a gearbox problem. For the Australian, it meant the end of the race and the loss of a potentially very strong result.
Piastri’s problems opened the door for Lando Norris to take victory.
It was an especially painful result because Piastri had previously led the race and remained in genuine contention for the win. Norris took advantage of the situation and went on to win the Hungarian Grand Prix.
